When recording the dry or effect sound from the GX-10 into your DAW, please follow the steps below.
Installing the dedicated USB driver
- Install the USB driver that matches your computer's operating system.
Download: https://www.boss.info/global/support/by_product/gx-10/updates_drivers/ - Set the USB DRIVER mode to "VENDOR" (default).
- Press the [MENU] button.
- Touch <USB>.
- If "USB DRIVER" is displayed as "GENERIC", touch it and then turn knob [3] to change it to "VENDOR".
- Connect the GX-10 to your PC/Mac using a USB cable that supports data transfer.
Configuring USB Audio Device and Port Settings in Your DAW
- In your DAW's USB audio device settings, choose "GX-10" as the input/output device.
Note: Some DAWs may not have this setting. In that case, proceed to the next step and check if you can select the appropriate audio input port based on the sound you want to record (dry/wet). -
In the INPUT settings of the recording track, select one of the following:
Note: The setting methods and actual display may vary depending on your DAW software.To record dry sound To record effect sound Windows DRY, DRY(R), DRY+DRY(R) MAIN, MAIN(R), MAIN+MAIN(R) Mac 3, 4, 3/4 1, 2, 1/2 Note: Since the GX-10 is outputting to the computer from both MAIN and DRY, you can provide two tracks for guitar and simultaneously record the dry sound and the effect sound from MAIN OUT. If you are not satisfied with the effect sound from MAIN OUT, you can play back the dry sound that was simultaneously recorded from DRY, and pass it through the effect chain of the GX-10 to reamp the sound.
