Here's how to update the system program firmware for the GX-10.
Details about the changes can be found in the “UPDATE HISTORY” section of the system program download page.
Updating the system program on the GX-10 can improve and add features. Before you start, check the system program version of your GX-10.
- Make sure the power is turned off.
- Turn on the power.
The version information appears in the lower-right corner of the startup screen. - After confirming the version, turn off the power.
Required Items
- GX-10
- A computer
- USB cable (Ensure the cable supports data transfer. The GX-10 uses a USB Type-C port.)
CAUTION
- Never apply this update data to any product other than the GX-10.
This update data may destroy the data or system program of other products.- Never power-off your GX-10 while the update is in progress!
If a power failure or similar accident occurs during the update process, the GX-10 won’t be able to start up in normal operating mode. This will require servicing, so you will need to contact Roland service center near you if this occurs.
UPDATE PROCEDURE
- While holding down the [WRITE] button, turn on the GX-10.
* Keep holding the [WRITE] button until “Updater” is displayed. - Connect the GX-10 to your computer using a USB cable.
- On your computer, open the GX-10 drive.
- Access the following page and download the latest System Program.

Example: - Extract the downloaded ZIP file:
- Windows: Right-click the file and select "Extract All."
- macOS: Double-click the file.
- Open the extracted folder (gx10_sys_vxxx) and copy all the files to the root directory of the GX-10 drive (the topmost level).
Note: xxx represents the version number. - After the copy is complete, eject the GX-10 drive:
- Windows: Right-click the GX-10 drive and select "Eject."
- macOS: Drag the GX-10 icon to the Trash.
The update will begin automatically.
Caution: Do not turn off the power during the update process.
- When “COMPLETE” is displayed, turn off and then turn on the GX-10.
