A-88MKII: How do I use the MIDI 2.0 Piano Profile (Preview) with Ivory 3?

The A-88MKII supports the MIDI 2.0 Piano Profile (Preview) with Ivory 3 (Synthogy).

Requirements:

• A-88MKII: System Program Ver. 2.10 or later
• Ivory 3: Ver. 3.1.0 or later, installed on macOS 14 or later
• USB Cable: Included with the A-88MKII

Follow the steps below:

1. Update the A-88MKII system program to Ver. 2.10 or later.
   Download: https://www.roland.com/global/support/by_product/a-88mk2/updates_drivers/
2. Connect the A-88MKII to your Mac using the USB cable.
3. Switch the A-88MKII to MIDI 2.0 mode:
   1. Turn off the power.
   2. While holding down the BANK [>] button, turn on the power.
   
   After a few seconds, the BANK indicators, pads [1]–[8], and assignable control knobs [1]–[8] light up blue, indicating MIDI 2.0 mode is active.
4. Launch Ivory 3.
5. In the MIDI Device settings, select "A-88MK2 MIDI 2.0" as the Input.
   
6. Click "MIDI-CI" at the top of the screen.
   
7. Click "Discover".
   
   "Roland A-88MKII" appears.

8. Click "Piano Profile".
   
   The Piano Profile is enabled.
   The following parameters are assigned to the assignable control [1]–[8] knobs by default.
