If your XPS-60 is not working as expected or you want to clear all custom settings, you can perform a factory reset. This process initializes the instrument, restoring all user data and system settings to their factory defaults.
NOTE: Any user data that has been edited is erased. To save the current settings, be sure to use the backup function before restoring the unit to its factory settings. For details on how to backup the data of this instrument, refer to “Backing up data on the XPS-60 to a USB flash drive (BACKUP)” in the XPS-60 Reference Manual.
Follow the steps below to perform a factory reset.
- Press the [MENU] button.
The MENU screen appears. - Move the cursor to "UTILITY", and press the [ENTER] button.
- On the UTILITY screen, move the cursor to “FACTORY RESET” and press the [ENTER] button.
The FACTORY RESET screen appears.-

- Select the item to execute, and turn the value dial to select its check box.
Turn the value dial a second time to remove the check mark.
(*1) This is displayed if a sound pack or wave expansion is imported/installed. See the “XPS-60 Roland Cloud User’s Guide” for details on the user licenses.Item Description Reset User Data Initializes the user scenes, user tones and user drum kits. Reset System Data Initializes the system settings. Remove License (*1) Initializes the user license and World Expansion.
Initializing the user license lets you import/install a World Expansion that was downloaded with a different user license.
* This deletes the currently installed World Expansion.
* This does not delete the pre-installed EXZ101.
To remove the EXZ101, see “Uninstalling a World Expansion” - Press the [ENTER] button.
A confirmation message appears.
If you decide to cancel, press the [EXIT] button. - Move the cursor to “OK” and press the [ENTER] button.
Never turn off the power or remove the USB flash drives while the screen indicates “Processing...”.
The screen shows “Completed. Turn off the power.” when the reset finishes. - Turn the power of the XPS-60 off and then on again.
