GT-1: PATCH WRITE, EXCHANGE & REORDER
The GT-1 has PRESET PATCHES prefix of "P" and USER PATCHES prefix of "U".
Examples: P01 and U01
PRESET PATCHES are hard coded and programmed in the GT-1 and can't be repositioned nor can changes be saved to the PRESET PATCH range.
USER PATCHES can be fully customized, edited and repositioned if necessary for easier access and playability. WRITE/SAVE settings and parameter changes.
NOTE: Factory default on the GT-1 the USER PATCHES U1-U99 are identical to the PRESET PATCHES P1-P99.
GT-1 USERS can always retrieve PRESET PATCHES and WRITE/SAVE or copy them into the USER PATCH range.
Editing of PRESET PATCHES is possible however if WRITE/SAVING a PRESET PATCH the user will be forced to save into the USER PATCH range U1-U99.
GT-1 USERS can use the PATCH UP/DOWN foot control pedals for changing to different PATCHES.
A common working method is to reposition preferred PATCHES next to one another in a specific range to use for performance.
For example when playing a PATCH the USER has one pedal press of PATCH UP/DOWN access to any two PATCHES.
If playing PATCH U02, PATCH DOWN press is U01, PATCH UP press is U03.
U01 - Ex. Sound 1
U02 - Ex. Sound 2: If playing this PATCH press PATCH DOWN to U01 or PATCH UP to U03, if you'd like to make it to a 3rd PATCH then PATCH UP from U03 to U04.
U03 - Ex. Sound 3
U04 - Ex. Sound 4
To WRITE/SAVE or reposition PATCHES use the WRITE/SAVE MENU option:
- From any PATCH the USER would like to reposition first locate it,
For this example: U01 Hi GAIN STACK.
- Press WRITE/SAVE [EXIT+ENTER] for the WRITE MENU: WRITE / EXCHANGE / INTIALIZE
- Choose WRITE ICON with KNOB1 and press [ENTER] again to enter WRITE MENU.
Choose which USER PATCH location to WRITE/SAVE PATCH U01 into.
NOTE: The USER PATCH location always starts on the current PATCH location being used.
- Choose location with KNOB 1 set it to U03 for example and press [ENTER] three more times to WRITE/SAVE to the location.
- Now USER PATCHES U01 and U03 should be the same PATCH Hi GAIN STACK.
Now you have duplicate PATCHES in U01 and U03.
Another WRITE menu option is to use EXCHANGE which allows for a USER to exchange PATCH locations without overwriting PATCH DATA.
To EXCHANGE and reposition PATCHES use the WRITE/EXCHANGE option:
-From any PATCH you'd like to reposition first locate it for example U01 Hi GAIN STACK.
- Press WRITE/SAVE [EXIT+ENTER] for the WRITE MENU: WRITE / EXCHANGE / INTIALIZE
- Choose EXCHANGE ICON with KNOB1 and press ENTER again to enter EXCHANGE MENU.
- Choose which LOCATION you want to EXCHANGE with U01, for this example use KNOB1 to choose U03.
- Press [ENTER] to execute the PATCH LOCATION EXCHANGE of U01 and U03.
- Now the LOCATION of the two patches are swapped.
PATCH WRITE and EXCHANGE will help to reorganize your GT-1 to be optimized and efficient for live performance.
Users may also use the BOSS TONE STUDIO for GT-1 software editor to REORGANIZE GT-1 USER PATCHES in the BOSS TONE STUDIOS LIBRARIAN and drag and drop sound patches from LIVE SETS into the GT-1.
