ES-8: MIDI EXAMPLE SETTINGS FOR DD-500 EFFECT CONTROL
If using the ES-8 use the PATCH MIDI to send a MIDI PC# to pull up the correct PATCH.
Use the DD-500 MIDI PC MAP for identifying which PC# corresponds to the PATCH.
(Press [EDIT] and [ARROW UP/DWN] button to MIDI PC MAP and press [EDIT/ENTER] to view).
Generally the DD/RV/MD-500 series pedals are mapped like below, note that 01C is not available in FSW MODE: NORMAL or A/B SIMUL.
PC#1= 01A
PC#2= 01B
PC#3= 01C
PC#4= 02A
PC#5= 02B
PC#6= 02C
etc...
In the DD-500 there is also a MIDI MENU for MIDI CC#.
(Press [EDIT] and [ARROW UP/DWN] button to MIDI and press [EDIT/ENTER] to view).
Once in the MIDI MENU. [ARROW UP/DWN] button to:
EFFECT SW: CC#27
EFFECT A: CC#28
EFFECT B: CC#29
These are the CC# assignments for EFFECT SWITCH, EFFECT A and B.
Again with the ES-8 PATCH MIDI, program and send the MIDI PC# to pull up the PATCH and the EFFECT A/B CC#, use VALUE for ON/OFF.
VALUE: 0 = OFF, VALUE:127 = ON.
On the ES-8 there are 8 PATCH MIDI available to program per MEMORY PATCH.
Each PATCH MIDI is able to send ONE MIDI PC# and two CC# and VALUES.
(To access the ES-8 PATCH MIDI, press [EDIT], use [LEFT/RIGHT < > ARROW] to choose PATCH and press [EDIT/ENTER], use [LEFT/RIGHT < > ARROW] to choose PATCH MIDI 1.
Typical PATCH MIDI SETTINGS:
CHANNEL: 1 (MIDI CHANNEL for EXTERNALLY CONTROLLED DEVICE with MIDI RX/RECEIVE set to MIDI CHANNEL 1).
MSB: OFF
LSB: OFF (Change to 1 if necessary to access PATCHES PAST PC#128)
PC: 2 (For PATCH 01B if in A/B SIMUL MODE this will pull up both PATCH A and B in the BANK 01)
CTL1 CC: CC#29 (EFFECT B)
VALUE: 127 (ON)
CTL2 CC: OFF
VALUE: OFF
