The following article addresses general noise issues when powering the R-07 via USB.
If power the R-07 via USB power adapter
- Physically disconnect the USB cable from the R-07 and test while battery powered--to be sure that the noise is being introduced via USB.
- Try moving the R-07 away from: computers, computer monitors, any power cables and any power source/outlet.
- Test on a different power circuit (i.e. wall outlet) and/or a different building to rule out the power source causing the issue (e.g. grounding issue, dirty power, etc).
- Be sure that the USB adapter that the R-07 is connected to is supplying at least 350 mA of power. Check the specifications of the USB adapter for this information.
- Test with a different USB cable.
-
Test with a different USB power adapter. Using high quality, name brand USB power adapters (such as Apple or Amazon) is recommended.
If powering the R-07 via a computer's USB port:
- Physically disconnect the USB cable from the R-07 and test while battery powered--to be sure that the noise is being introduced via USB.
-
If the R-07 is connected to USB hub, physically disconnect the hub from the computer and connect the R-07 directly to the computer via USB. If the noise is resolved the issue is due to the USB hub.
- Try moving the R-07 away from: the computer, computer monitor, any power cables and any power source/outlet.
- If there are other USB devices connected to the computer, physically disconnect them one-by-one from the computer's USB--to see if the noise disappears.
-
Physically disconnect the computer's power supply and have the computer run on it's own battery power. If the noise is resolved, the issue is due to the computer's power supply or from the power source itself (i.e. the wall outlet).
- Test on a different power circuit (i.e. wall outlet) and/or a different building to rule out the power source causing the issue (e.g. grounding issue, dirty power, etc).
- Be sure that the USB port that the R-07 is connected to is supplying at least 350 mA of power. Check the specifications of the computer for this information.
-
Test with different USB ports on the computer.
- Test with a different USB cable.
