The FP-50 can be connected to a computer for use with music software applications. To make this connection you will need to use a separate MIDI or Audio/MIDI interface, which will connect to the MIDI IN and MIDI OUT jacks on the back panel of the FP-50 and then to a standard USB port on your computer. If you are using an audio interface, you will also connect the LEFT / RIGHT main outputs on the back of the FP-50 to your interface.
Here are the steps to make the connection:
- Confirm that the computer is communicating correctly with the interface.
- On a Macintosh, look in the Audio MIDI Setup utility and confirm that the interface is listed n both the Audio and MIDI Studio windows if it is a Audio and MIDI interface, or only in the MIDI Studio window if it is a MIDI interface.
- On a PC, open the Device Manager and confirm that the interface is listed under "Sound, video, and game controllers." - Activate or enable the interface in your music software.
- You will need to consult with the documentation for your specific application for this. - Connect the FP-50 to the interface according to your usage.
Examples- To record your performance to a MIDI track of DAW: Connect the MIDI OUT jack of the FP-50 to the MIDI IN jack of the MIDI interface.
- To record your performance to an audio track of DAW: Connect the OUTPUT jack of the FP-50 to the audio input jack of the Audio interface.
