Muffling is an editing parameter in the TD-50 that allows you to adjust the ringing or "decay" amount of the drum instruments. It's designed specifically to model the sound of an acoustic drum being muffled by pieces of tape or "doughnut rings." For example, the more you increase the Muffling value for an instrument, the shorter its decay length is.
Here's how to adjust the Muffling for a pad in a Kit:
1. Choose a Kit to edit.
2. Press the INSTRUMENT button.
3. Press the F2 button to select the "BASIC 1" tab.
4. Hit the pad that you want to adjust.
5. Turn the R2 knob to adjust the Muffling.
6. Repeat the steps for any other pads as desired.
7. Press EXIT when you're finished. The new settings are saved automatically.
Note: For some instruments, the muffling parameter cannot be adjusted or may not be available.
