The following article troubleshoots in the event that the GO:MIXER PRO contains noise in the audio.
- Lower the volume of any unused inputs on the GO:MIXER PRO. For example: When not connecting a microphone or a guitar or bass to the unit, turn the [GUITAR/BASS] knob and the [MIC] knob all the way counterclockwise to lower the volume level.
- If noise is heard when the phone is near the GO:MIXER PRO, the unit might be picking up electromagnetic noise produced by the smartphone. Try changing the locations of the smartphone and the GO:MIXER PRO.
- Test with the LOOP BACK switch set to the OFF position.
- Be sure that a compatible phone is being used:
https://www.roland.com/us/products/gomixer_pro/support/
(Scroll down to "SUPPORT DOCUMENTS") - Be sure that a compatible app is being used. Not all apps are warranted for full function with the GO:MIXER PRO. Check the compatible app list on the bottom of one of the links above.
- Test with a different, compatible audio app.
- Be sure that only the included USB cable is being used--3rd party cables are not compatible.
- If using an Android phone:
Note that the white end of the included USB cable must connect to the GO:MIXER and the black end of the USB cable must connect to the Android. - Power:
- Be sure that the phone is charged and not low on battery--if not using batteries.
- If using batteries, be sure that the batteries are new.
- If using PHANTOM POWER:
- iPhone/iPad Users:
PHANTOM POWER cannot be used when being powered by an iPhone or iPad. In this case, batteries will need to be installed, the BATTERY switch set to "ON" and PHANTOM POWER set to "48v." - Android Users:
Don’t operate the [BATTERY] switch while a smartphone is connected. Doing so might destabilize the smartphone’s operation.
- iPhone/iPad Users:
- Disconnect the USB cable from both the GO:MIXER PRO and the phone. Then reconnect both ends making sure that the USB cable is fully connected to both the GO:MIXER and the phone.
- If available, test with a different compatible phone (using the link of one of the articles above as a reference).
