The Trigger Bank section in the TD-50/TD-50X contain "sets" of Trigger Type selections that are assigned to each trigger input. "Trigger Types" specify the type of pad/ trigger that's connected to the TD-50/50X and optimize the sensitivity parameters for each input. For example, if you have a Roland PD-128 pad connected to one of the AUX (1-4) inputs on the TD-50/50X, you would choose "PD-128" as the Trigger Type for that input.
From the factory, the Trigger Banks are already populated with appropriate Trigger Type selections for several of the V-Drums kits that Roland offers (TD-50K, TD-50KV2 VAD-706. Depending on the TD-50 kit you have, you'd want to choose the correct Trigger Bank which will optimize the sensitivity for each pad.
Another example for utilizing the Trigger Banks would be if there are different players accessing one TD-50 kit regularly, and each prefers their own custom sensitivity settings. The Trigger Banks can be used to apply those custom settings quickly and easily for each player.
