The Trigger Bank section in the TD-50 / TD-50X contains sets of Trigger Type assignments for each trigger input. Trigger Types define the specific pad or trigger device connected to the TD-50 / TD-50X and automatically optimize the sensitivity and response settings for that input.
For example, if you connect a Roland PD-128 pad to one of the AUX (1–4) inputs, you should select “PD-128” as the Trigger Type for that input.
From the factory, the Trigger Banks are preloaded with appropriate Trigger Type selections for several Roland V-Drums kits, such as the TD-50K, TD-50KV2, and VAD706. Depending on which TD-50 kit you are using, you should choose the corresponding Trigger Bank to ensure that the sensitivity settings are optimized for each pad.
Another example of how Trigger Banks can be useful is when multiple players regularly use the same TD-50 kit and each prefers different custom sensitivity settings. In this case, the Trigger Banks allow players to quickly and easily switch between their personalized configurations.
