SY-1000: Can I assign functions to a footswitch or expression pedal?

Yes.
You can assign the desired functions to the unit's footswitches and to expression pedals or footswitches that are connected to the rear panel CTL3,4/EXP1 jack and CTL5, 6/EXP2 jack.

 As an example, here's how you can make control function settings so that the [CTL1] switch turns distortion (DS) on/off.

1.  Recall the patch you want to edit.
2.  Press the [CTL] button.
3.  Press the [1] knob (CONTROL FUNCTION).
4.  Turn the [4] knob (CTL1) to select "DS."
   - You can also press the [4] knob and choose from the list that appears.
5. Press the [EFFECTS] button to access the effect screen (effect chain).
6. Press the [CTL1] switch to verify that "DS" turns on/off.
7. Save (WRITE) the edited result.
