There are 3 types of sound expansion packs that can be installed in the FANTON 6/7/8:
- Model Expansions
- Wave Expansions
- SuperNatural Expansions
All of these are available in the Roland Cloud Manager application which can be downloaded here.
Note: Installing these expansions requires that the FANTOM be updated - so you should download and install the latest system update before attempting to install these updates.
The same procedure is used for all 3 types of expansion in the FANTOM:
- Please prepare a USB flash drive formatted with FANTOM.
- Download the sound data you want to install from Roland Cloud Manager.
- In the root directory of your USB flash drive, save the sound data (only EXZ file) that you downloaded.
- Turn off the power of your FANTOM, and then connect your USB flash drive to the USB MEMORY port.
- While holding down the [TEMPO] button, turn the power on.
- The EXPANSION screen appears. - Press the [E6] (INSTALL) knob.
- The title of sound data that being saved in the USB flash memory appears. - Use the cursor [V] [Λ] buttons or [E1] knob to select the tone that you want to install.
- To select multiple tones shown in a row, hold down the [SHIFT] button, and then operate the cursor [V] [Λ] button or [E1] knob.
- To select multiple tones scattered across the screen, select one tone, then hold down the [SHIFT] button and touch another tone. - Press the [E6] (INSTALL) knob.
- The confirmation message appears. - Press the [E5] (OK) knob.
Note: Never turn off the power or remove the USB flash drives while the screen indicates “working.”
- When installation completed, the title of sound data appears on the list in the screen.
- If you want to add another tone, then repeat step 6-8. - After all the installation is done, turn the power off and then on again.
