Yes.
Before playing with brushes, it's recommended to first turn on the Brush Switch in the TD-27. Here's how:
- Choose a Kit to edit.
- Press the KIT EDIT button.
- The KIT EDIT screen appears. - Press the function 5 button[F5]button for "OTHER."
- The KIT EDIT OTHER screen appears. - Use the cursor buttons to highlight “BRUSH SW,” and then press the ENTER button.
- The BRUSH screen appears. - Turn the dial to choose “ON.”
- When the Brush Switch is “ON,” the Brush icon is shown in the main DRUM KIT screen. - Press the DRUM KIT button when you're finished. The new setting is saved automatically.
Brush performance is available in the following cases.
- When you select an instrument that supports brush performance, and assign it to the head of the snare.
- Refer to the "Instrument List" in the "TD-27 Data List" (PDF) and select the instrument that marked with "*B" in the remarks column. - When you connect a mesh pad to the TRIGGER IN jack (SNARE), or connect a pad that supports digital connection to a DIGITAL IN port, and set assign to “SNARE.”
- If the Assign setting of a DIGITAL TRIGGER IN port is set to "SNARE," the pad connected to the SNR (snare) cable on the dedicated cable harness will not sound.
