Changing the local on/off setting in the JUNO-DS can help with MIDI issues when connecting to a sequencer or computer-base DAW application. When set to "OFF" the keyboard in the Juno-DS is disconnected from the sound source in the JUNO-DS, so the MIDI signal goes into the sequencer / DAW first and the sequencer/DAW can then control if the MIDI signal will activate a sound in the JUNO-DS or another device or soft synth.
- Press the MENU button.
- Cursor to “SYSTEM,” and press the ENTER button.
- Cursor to the MIDI tab.
- Cursor to "Local Switch" and use the value dial to change the value to "OFF" or "ON" as needed.
- Press the EXIT button to exit the screen.
Note: If you switch the local setting to "OFF," you will need to remember to turn this setting back to "ON" when you disconnect from the sequencer / computer, since you won't hear any sounds when playing the JUNO-DS by itself when local is set to "OFF."
