A crosstick is when you use the neck/shoulder of the drumstick and tap on the rim of the snare to trigger a "click" style sound. This is most commonly used for ballad type songs. The PD-120LS snare pad on the VAD-306 supports crosstick playing. It can be activated in each of the TD-17's kits.
- On the TD-17, press the DRUM KIT button to confirm you're in the main Drum Kit menu.
- Turn the main dial to select a desired drum kit.
- Press the function 1 button (below the display) until there is a "check mark" next to XSTICK.
With the drum stick laying from rim to rim (do not rest the stick on the mesh head of the snare pad), tap on the rim.
You can further adjust the volume level for the crosstick sound as desired: TD-17: X-Stick Volume (Crosstick)
