Except for certain models, the main unit of this piano can be detached from the stand. Download the Owner’s Manual or “Assembling the Stand” for the respective product, and detach by following the directions for assembly in reverse.
- Make sure to enlist the help of at least one other person who is old enough to handle the work.
- Use sufficient care to avoid dropping and damaging the instrument or injuring yourself.
- Close the keyboard cover, and fold down the music rest if your instrument’s music rest is foldable.
- Placing the detached piano unit on top of the bare floor may damage the protrusions on the unit.
- If you wish to place the unit on the floor, use caution to ensure that the protrusions do not come into direct contact with the floor.
- If your instrument has an adjuster below the pedals that supports the pedalboard, turn and lift the adjuster. Turn and re-adjust the adjuster so that it touches the ground after you move the instrument.
- Make sure that the piano unit is as level as possible when detaching, assembling or carrying the unit.
- Be careful to keep small children from accidentally placing the removed parts in their mouth or from losing the cables.
- When moving grand piano-type models or models that can’t be detached (such as the LX708, LX-17, LX-15, LX-10 or the KF-10), we recommend that you consult a moving specialist.
- If you’re not sure whether your piano can be detached, contact the nearest Roland Service Center.
- Roland accepts no responsibility for accidents or malfunctions caused when the user assembles, detaches or moves the instrument themselves. We appreciate your understanding.
We’ve created a video that explains how to detach the piano unit, using the RP401R as an example.
