The SPD::ONE WAV PAD (SPD-1W) can only import WAV files that are 16-bit with a sample rate of 44.1 kHz. If your file will not import, check the following causes.
Cause 1: The file is a compressed format (MP3, M4A, etc.)
Audio purchased from online music stores such as Amazon or iTunes, or ripped from a CD, is usually MP3 or M4A and will not import into the SPD-1W. Use iTunes, Windows Media Player, Audacity, or another free program to convert the file to WAV, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz. Refer to your program's documentation for conversion steps.
Cause 2: The file contains embedded metadata ("tags")
If the file is already 16-bit/44.1 kHz WAV and still will not import, it may contain embedded metadata from a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), other audio software, or a sample library. To remove this metadata:
- Convert the file to Apple Lossless or FLAC format.
- Convert that file back to WAV, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz.
