This allows you to perform the following operations.
- Switching between scenes
- Turning the drone or harmony on/off
Here’s an example of using the BOSS FC-300 foot controller.
Switching between scenes
- Press the [1]–[10] switches to switch scenes. Press the [▼] [▲] switches to go back or forward five scenes.

- You can store different program change or control change messages for each of the [1]?[10] switches, use the switches to recall a desired scene or control the drone or harmony.
Turning the drone or harmony on/off
- You can assign a control change message to one of the modes (STANDARD, CONTROL CHANGE, PATCH) to make the sound sustain (Drone) or to add a harmony (Harmony).
Example of settings
Perform the following procedure
- Connect the MIDI IN connector of the AE-30 to the MIDI OUT connector of the FC-300.
- On the FC-300, press the [MODE] button to switch the unit to “STANDARD” mode.
- Switching between scenes in STANDARD mode
- Use the [▼] [▲] pedals and the numbered pedals (1/6?5/10) to switch between scenes.
- Press the [▼] pedal to decrease the number by five, and the [▲] pedal to increase the number by five.
- Switching between scenes of the desired category in STANDARD mode
- Press the [UTILITY] button.
- Use the PARAMETER [<] [>] buttons to select “SYS:PC Mode.”
- Use the VALUE [▼] [▲] to select “SOUND MODULE.”
- Press the [UTILITY] button.
- Use the [PARAMETER] button and the VALUE [▼] [▲] buttons to set the MSB and LSB for the category that includes the scene you want to recall.
Example: Categories that include “AE Hard Lead”: Synth Hard Lead (MSB: 85, LSB: 64)
- For details on the MSB and LSB values, see the “AE-30 Scene List.” - Press the numbered pedals (1/6?5/10) to switch between scenes.
- The MSB and LSB values you specified in step 7 are transmitted as program change messages.
- Using the CTL1 pedal in STANDARD mode to control the drone and harmony
- Press the PARAMETER [<] [>] buttons to select “CONTROL1:Assign.”
- When using the CTL2 pedal, select “CONTROL2:Assign.” - Use the [PARAMETER] button and the VALUE [▼] [▲] buttons to set the parameters as follows.
CC# 29 (Drone) 28 (Harmony)
CTL1:Range 0?127
CTL1:Mode Momentary (Drone) Latch (Harmony) - Press the CTL1 pedal while playing the AE-30.
Drone: The “Drone Sw” is set to “ON” only while CTL1 pedal is pressed.
Harmony: Pressing the CTL1 pedal switches harmony on/off.
