Use the following steps to play an external MIDI sound module using the AE-30.
MIDI connection
Connect the MIDI OUT connector on the back of the AE-30 to the MIDI IN connector on your external MIDI sound module (hardware).
- Use a MIDI cable (commercially available) for this connection.
USB connection
Connect the USB port (Type-C) on the side of the AE-30 to your computer to play software synthesizers or external MIDI sound modules connected to the computer.
- You need DAW software or a software synthesizer for this.
- Some latency may occur when using this method.
- Connect using the included USB cable (Type-C to Type-A).
You need to use the same MIDI channels for the transmitting side (AE-30) and the receiving side (the external MIDI sound module or MIDI track on your DAW software) when using either method.
Perform the following procedure to change the MIDI channel on the AE-30.
- You need to use the Aerophone Pro Editor.

- Launch the Aerophone Pro Editor and connect to the AE-30.
- Tap the [EDITOR] button at the bottom of the screen.
- If the scene you want to edit is not shown at the upper left part of the screen, select the scene using the AE-30, or tap the scene name shown in the Aerophone Pro Editor and select from the list. - Tap [MIDI OUT].
- Tap [CONTROL].
- Tap the value for the [TX Channel].
- Specify the transmit channel.
- To save your changes, tap the [WRITE] button.
- Confirm the save destination scene, and tap the [OK] button.
