MICRO BR BR-80: SYMPTOM: Guitar is distorted or clipping

The following article troubleshoots if a connected guitar is distorted or is clipping.

1. Be sure that the GUITAR/MIC switch on the back of the BR-80 is set to the "GUITAR" position.
2. The noise may be a result of a COSM effect in the BR-80. Press the [COSM] button until "FX OFF" appears at the top of the screen.
3. The input signal may be too high coming into the BR-80. Try lowering the Input Sensitivity:
   - Press the [MENU] button.
   - Cursor to "INPUT SENS" and then press [ENTER].
   - Begin playing the guitar and use the dial to adjust the "SENSITIVITY" so that the audio signal is between "12" and "6" on the meter.
4. If using external effects (such as stompboxes), try lowering their output volume.
5. Lower the REC LEVEL knob on the side panel until the noise is alleviated.
