By connecting a pad that supports strike position detection to the following jack and setting “POSITION” to “ON,” the sound changes depending on where on the pad you strike.

Follow the steps below for the settings.
- In the DRUM KIT screen, press the [F5] (MENU) button.
- Press the PAGE [UP] [DOWN] buttons to display page 3 (KIT PAD CTRL).
- Press the [F2] (POSITION) button.
- Select the pad to set by either striking that pad or by using the SELECT [<] [>] buttons.
- Use the [+] button or the dial to set the value to “ON.”
- To set the strike position area for the head, rim and so on, press the [F3] (POS AREA) button.
- Use the [–] [+] buttons or the dial to edit the value.
- Press the [KIT] button to return to the DRUM KIT screen.
- Refer to the “Instrument List” in the “TD-50X Data List” (PDF) for a list of instruments that support strike detection. (Select the instruments that are marked with a “*P”.)
- [F2] (POSITION) and [F3] (POS AREA) support the following trigger inputs.
- SNARE
- TOM 1–4
- HI-HAT (only when the VH-14D is assigned to the Trigger Input - Hi-Hat)
