By assigning a switch function to a pad that’s connected to TRIGGER IN jack 13/AUX 3 and 14/AUX 4, or to a pad that supports digital connection and is assigned to AUX 3/4, you can play back audio files by striking the pad.
Follow the steps below.
- Have ready a USB flash drive on which the audio files you wish to play back are saved.
- Before using an SD card for the first time, you must format it on the TD-50X.
- File formats that can be played back include MP3 (sampling frequency: 44.1 kHz, bit rate: 64–320 kbps) and WAV (sampling frequency: 44.1 kHz, bit rate: 8/16/24 bits). - Press the [SETUP] button.
- The SETUP MENU screen appears. - In the SETUP MENU 1 screen, press the [F4] (CONTROL) button.
- Press the [F2] (PAD CTRL) button.
- The PAD SWITCH CONTROL screen appears. - Use the cursor buttons to select either Head Func or Rim Func for the pad to set, and use the [-] [+] buttons or the dial to edit the value.
e.g. To play back an audio file each time you strike the head of the pad connected to AUX 3: set AUX 3 Head Func to “SONG PLAY/STOP” - Press the [EXIT] button to return to the SETUP screen.
- Press the [KIT] button to return to the DRUM KIT screen.
