TD-17KV-L: Assigning Sounds to the Pads (Kit Edit)

You can assign the desired instrument to each pad for each kit. This allows you to fully customize the TD-17’s preset and user kits to suit your playing style.

1. Select the kit you want to edit.
2. Press the [ASSIGN] button.
   The INST ASSIGN screen appears.
   
   Note: If the [F1] (H&R ON) button is selected, any instrument you choose will be assigned to both the head and rim together. To assign different instruments to each part individually, turn off the H&R setting first.
3. Strike the pad to which you want to assign an instrument.
   Note: You can also use the [PAD SELECT] button to select the pad to edit. Each time you press the [PAD SELECT] button, the pad being edited changes, and the PAD SELECT indicator for that pad lights up.
4. Use the [Λ] [V] buttons to move the cursor to the instrument group or instrument, and
   use the dial to select an instrument.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for other pads as needed.
6. Press the [DRUM KIT] button to return to the KIT screen.
   The settings are saved automatically.
