Yes. The XPS-10X can be used as an 8-part multi-timbral sound generator. By connecting the XPS-10X to a computer with a USB cable, you can record performance data (MIDI data) on the XPS-10X to your DAW software or use DAW software to play the performance data (MIDI data) back, triggering the sound generator of the XPS-10X.
Note:
-Part 8 (R) is fixed as a rhythm part.
-XPS-10X cannot be used as a General MIDI compatible sound module.
Follow the steps below to check the MIDI settings.
- Select the scene you want to use.
- Press the [MENU] button.
The MENU screen appears. - Use the value dial to select “SCENE EDIT” and press the [ENTER] button.
- Use the value dial to select “PART” and press the [ENTER] button.
- Use the [<] [>] buttons to select the “MIDI” tab.
- Press buttons [1]-[8] to select the part you want to use, then check the following parameters:
- Rx Channel: This should match the MIDI output channel of the MIDI track that plays the tone for this part.
- Rx Program Change: Set to ON to select a tone by sending a program change from your DAW.
- Rx Bank Select: Set to ON to use bank selection when sending a program change from your DAW.
- Other Rx parameters: Adjust as needed for your specific setup.
