In WHOL-S (Whole Solo) mode, the Upper tone is monophonic when the D-05 is played using the K-25m keyboard unit. However, when the D-05 is played from an external MIDI keyboard or sequencer, it may still play multiple notes at once. This behavior reflects the original design of the D-50, which the D-05 faithfully reproduces.
To make the D-05 play one note at a time via MIDI, use one of the following methods:
- Send a MIDI "Mono On" message
- Adjust the patch settings manually: Set Key Mode to DUAL-S, and mute Lower Partial 1 and Lower Partial 2.
