The DP-10 is the current model in Roland's lineup and can be used as a direct replacement for the discontinued DP-8 on any instrument that specifies either pedal. Here are the key differences between the two pedals:
Rubber Plate for Stability
The DP-10 features a rubber plate attached to the bottom of the pedal, which helps improve stability during use. This rubber plate improves grip on hard floors and can be stored on the underside of the pedal when not in use.
Pedal Cord Length
The DP-10 comes with a longer pedal cord, measuring 2.2 meters, compared to the DP-8's 1.3-meter cord. This provides more flexibility for setup in various configurations.
About the Function Switch
Both the DP-10 and DP-8 are equipped with a function switch, allowing you to select the appropriate mode for your needs:
- Half Damper Control: Enables half-damper functionality. Set the switch to the "Continuous" position to use this feature.
- Switch Control: Functions as a simple on/off pedal switch. Set the switch to the "Switch" position for this mode.
