By default, zones 1-4 on the RD-2000/RD-2000 EX are set to play internal sounds, and the buttons above these faders will light red when pressed. Zones 5-8 are set to external by default (outputting MIDI without triggering sounds in the RD-2000/RD-2000 EX).
You can change this setting by holding down the SHIFT button while pressing any of these zone buttons. This action toggles the button color between red (internal) and green (external). Repeatedly pressing a button while holding SHIFT will cycle through these options.
NOTE:
- Effects cannot be applied to zones 5–8.
- If zones 5–8 are also assigned as internal zones, and if an extremely large amount of data is being produced by the controllers, a substantial burden is placed on the RD-2000/RD-2000 EX, possibly making it unable to process the performance data from the keyboard. To address this issue, the following workaround is recommended:
Turn off parameters that you do not need to control:- While holding the [SHIFT] button, press any of the [1] - [8] buttons.
- While holding the [SHIFT] button, press the cursor [<] [>] buttons to switch to CTRL SW tab.
