The VAD503 and VAD506 kits contain a parameter in the TD-27 module called "HH Open/Close Balance," which lets you adjust the volume level between the open hihat and close hihat sounds. You can adjust this in each of the TD-27's Kits as desired.
Here's how:
- In the TD-27, choose a Kit to edit.
- Press the Function 5 [F5] button (KIT VOL).
- Cursor down to highlight the value next to "HH Open/Close Balance."
- Turn the main dial to adjust the value (-5 > +5). **Using a lower value decreases the volume level of the open sound in relation to the close HH sound.
- Press the DRUM KIT button when you're finished. The new setting is saved in the Kit automatically.
