If your SPD::ONE WAV PAD (SPD-1W) does not appear as a storage device when connected to a computer, check the following:
-
USB cable
When connecting the SPD-1W to a computer, be sure to use a Micro-B USB cable that supports data transfer. Some Micro-B USB cables are designed only for charging and cannot transfer data.
-
USB adapter or hub
USB adapters, extension cables, and some USB hubs may prevent proper communication between the SPD-1W and the computer. If possible, connect the SPD-1W directly to a USB port on the computer.
-
If the SPD-1W was previously recognized
If the SPD-1W was previously recognized by the computer but is no longer recognized after being disconnected, see the related article: What Should I Do If the Unit Is No Longer Recognized After Disconnecting It From a Computer?
-
Mac users
- If you are using a Mac, make sure your SPD-1W is running System Program Version 1.02 or later. Version 1.02 includes improvements related to Mac connectivity. For the latest system program and update instructions, visit the SPD-1W Downloads page: https://www.roland.com/global/support/by_product/spd_one_wav_pad/updates_drivers/
- Also note that the SPD-1W may be recognized by macOS even if it does not appear on the desktop. Depending on your Finder settings, external storage devices may not be displayed on the desktop. For more information, see the following Apple support article:
