Although the key is already set for the transposable instrument tones (scenes) built into the Aerophone AE-20/AE-20W, the tones play using the key specified in the “System Transpose” parameter in the System parameters by factory default. To play in the key set for each tone (scene), change the setting for “Transpose Mode” in the System parameters.
Enabling the key that’s set for each tone (scene)
Follow the steps below.
- Press the [MENU] button.
- The menu screen appears. - Use the [-] [+] (</>) buttons to select “Transpose Mode” in the System parameters.
- Press the [MENU] button.
- The cursor moves to the lower line. - Use the [+] (>) button to select a “Scene”.
- Press the [MENU] button.
Changing the key of the built-in tones (PRESET SCENE) or user scenes
You can also set a specific key for each tone (scene). After following the steps in “Enabling the key that’s set for each tone (scene),” operate the instrument as shown below.
- Use the [-] [+] (</>) buttons to select “Scene Transpose” in the Scene parameters.
- Press the [MENU] button. The cursor moves to the lower line.
- Use the [-] [+] (</>) buttons to set the transpose value.
Setting range: from -5 to 0 to +6 (in semitones) - Long-press the [MENU] button.
- “Write Scene” blinks. - Use the [-] (<) button to select “User.”
- Select the user bank with the [SCENE CATEGORY] knob.
- Use the [-] [+] (</>) buttons to select which user scene number is used to register the currently selected scene.
- Press the [MENU] button.
- A confirmation message is shown, asking if you want to rename the scene. - To edit the scene name, press the [+] (>) button. If you don’t want to edit the scene name, press the [-] (<) button.

- A confirmation message appears. - To write the settings, press the [+] (>) button. To cancel writing, press the [-] (<) button.
- After the settings are written, the user scene that was written appears.
