When using the GK TYPE - "PIEZO (F,G,L,R)," the low E and high E strings may produce a garbled (alias) sound and/or may not track properly.
This could be due to the installation of a piezo-type pickup system from the manufacturer of the instrument. This has been noted in cases of custom instruments, or any instrument using an under-saddle piezo style pickup system.
Use the following Steps to apply the GK Input Settings in your SY-1000:
Press the [SYSTEM] button.
Use the (PAGE) [<] [>] buttons to access the “IN/OUT SETTING” icon.
Press the [2] knob. The IN/OUT SETTING screen appears.
Press the [1] knob. The GK SETTING screen appears.
Turn the [1] knob to choose "SETTING: [1] (GK-SET 1)." (The following GK pickup settings will be saved in SETTING: [1]).
Turn the [5] knob to choose the GK-TYPE. (PIEZO [F,G,L,R] is recommended for optimum string processing results when using a piezo pickup system).
Press the PAGE [>] button once - the screen shown below appears.
Turn the [2] knob to select the PU DIRECTION as desired - (REVERSE or NORMAL).
Press the EXIT button when you're finished. The new settings are saved automatically.
Success!
You have now adjusted the pickup direction and settings, which should improve aliasing and/or any tracking issues.
