The FR-4X V-Accordion has one MIDI out/in connector. By default, this connector is configured as a MIDI output. However, in order to use the FR-4X with a MIDI foot controller, such as the Roland FC-300, the FR-4X’s MIDI connector needs to be configured for MIDI in.
To Configure the MIDI out/in connector, please follow these steps:
- Press the MENU button on the FR-4X.
- Use the RIGHT ARROW button to navigate to the System menu.
- Press the ENTER button to enter the System Menu.
- Use the RIGHT ARROW button to get to the MIDI sub menu.
- Press the ENTER button to enter the MIDI sub menu.
- The display will read “Out/In.” The display will indicate if the the MIDI connector is configured for “OUT” or “IN.” If it is configured to “OUT,” Press the VALUE + button to change it to “IN.”
- To save the configuration, press and hold the MENU button.
- The display will read “Write SYS.” - Press the RIGHT ARROW button.
- The display will read “Write? N Y.” - Press the ENTER/YES.
- The change to the MIDI output configuration is now saved.
