The BOSS GX-100 allows the clean (dry) guitar signal to be recorded in a DAW first, and the GX-100 effects to be applied and recorded as a new track later. This is useful for adjusting the effect settings in detail after recording.
Note: Install the USB driver before connecting the GX-100 to a computer. Refer to "Connecting to a computer" in the GX-100 Reference Manual for details.
- Connect the GX-100 to your computer via USB.
- In the DAW software, select "GX-100" as the USB audio device.
- Set the output of the audio track containing the clean recording to "GX-100 DRY".
- Set the input of the new recording track to "GX-100 MAIN (1L, 2R, or 1L+2R)".
- Play back the audio track and adjust the effect intensity on the GX-100.
Monitor the processed sound via the PHONES jack or OUTPUT jack on the GX-100. - Set the new recording track to record-ready, then begin playback to record.
