The GX-1B will not power on unless a valid power source is supplied and a standard plug (TS) is inserted into the INPUT jack. If the power does not turn on, check the items below.
Check the power supply
Confirm that the GX-1B is being powered with a supported power source.
The GX-1B supports the following power supplies.
- Alkaline batteries (AA size, four batteries)
- AC adaptor (BOSS PSA-S series, sold separately)
- USB bus power
Using an AC adaptor other than the specified type may prevent the unit from powering on or may cause malfunction.
USB AC adaptors may not operate correctly with the GX-1B.
Check the INPUT jack connection
- Make sure that a plug is inserted into the INPUT jack.
The INPUT jack also functions as the power switch. The power turns on when a plug is inserted into the INPUT jack, and turns off when the plug is disconnected. - If the power turns off when the plug is fully inserted, check the type of plug being used. Only a standard plug (TS) can be used with the INPUT jack. Stereo standard plugs (TRS), such as those used for external expression pedals or footswitches, cannot be used.
- Standard plug (TS): One black ring (insulator) on the plug
- Stereo standard plug (TRS): Two black rings (insulators) on the plug
