TD-27: How to Set a Fixed Hi-hat Sound

The Roland TD-27's Fixed Hi-hat setting locks the Hi-hat instrument to a specific closed, half-open, or open sound, independent of the pedal. This is useful with a double bass drum pedal setup, where you want a closed Hi-hat sound even when your foot is off the Hi-hat pedal. You can set this per Kit.

1. Select the Kit to edit, then press the [KIT EDIT] button.
2. Use the cursor buttons to select "INSTRUMENT" and press the [ENTER] button.
3. Strike the Hi-hat pad to select it.
4. Press the [F1] (INST tab) button if needed.
   
5. Move the cursor to "Fixed".
6. Turn the dial to choose NORMAL, PRESS, CLOSE, HALF, or OPEN.
7. Press the [DRUM KIT] button.
   The setting saves to the Kit automatically.
