The following article contains information regarding what types of external microphones can be used with the R-07.
Microphone Types
- Dynamic Mics
Mono or stereo dynamic microphones designed for connection to a computer’s mic jack. - Condenser Mics
Mono or stereo condenser microphones that requires plug-in power (2.5 volts) and is designed for connection to a computer’s mic jack.
NOTE: If the condenser microphone being used requires more power, such as 48 volt phantom power, this will have to be supplied externally.
Connection Types
The R-07 is compatible with 3.5mm stereo (TRS) or 3.5mm mono (TS) microphones. Here's what the connections look like:
- TRS (Tip-Ring-Sleeve), also known as 3-Pole:
- TS (Tip-Sleeve), also known as 2-Pole:
NOTE: Microphones that use a TRRS (4-Pole) jack are not compatible.
