The RC-5's BLANK rhythm pattern plays no drum sound, but it keeps time with your loop and can transmit MIDI Clock to an external MIDI device such as a drum machine. You cannot use BLANK to upload or program your own custom rhythm pattern.
MIDI Clock is not transmitted from the MIDI OUT connector unless the rhythm is turned on.
To transmit MIDI Clock data, make the following settings under SETUP > MIDI.
- Press the [SETUP] button.
The SETUP screen appears. - Turn the [MEMORY/LOOP LEVEL] knob to select "MIDI", and press the [MEMORY/LOOP LEVEL] knob.
- Turn the [MEMORY/LOOP LEVEL] knob to set the following values.
- SYNC CLOCK: AUTO or INTERNAL. Set this to MIDI if you want the RC-5 to be the synchronized (slave) device instead.
- CLOCK OUT: ON
- MIDI THRU: MIDI OUT or USB/MIDI
- Press the [SETUP] button to return to the play screen.
Note: To transmit MIDI data via USB instead, set USB THRU to USB OUT or USB/MIDI in the same menu.
