Partial Tab Views

The tabs view enable you to select and view the partials in a variety of ways.

Partial Tabs

You can select Partial 1 - 4 to view all of the parameters of the select partial.

• Oscillator Section
• Filter Section
• Mix Section
• Dedicated Envelopes (Pitch, Filter, Amp)
• Two LFOs (Low-Frequency Oscillators)
• Layering: Enable anywhere from 1 to 4 partials simultaneously for massive, complex sounds.
• Split Sounds: Each partial can be set to be played withing a specific key or velocity range.

Partial Oscillator Section

The Oscillator Module is where the heart of the sound is made. You can start by choosing the type of oscillator.

Oscillator Types:

• Virtual Analog (VA)
• PCM
• PCM-Sync
• Super Saw
• Noise

PITCH ENV/MOD Module

This section gives you the ability to modulate the pitch of the oscillator using the envelope or LFOs

• Standard ADSR: Traditional Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release controls for Pitch, Filter, and Amp.
• Envelope Depth: Adjust how intensely the envelope affects its target.
• Flexible Mode: An advanced envelope mode allowing for complex positive and negative multi-stage routing.
• Pitch Randomizer: Introduces slight pitch variations per note for a more organic feel.
• LFO Depth: Dedicated knobs to quickly apply positive or inverse (negative) LFO modulation to the pitch.

Partial Filter Section

The next major tone shaping section of the partial is the Filter and Envelope section.

ZENOLOGY GX includes 9 different filter types including:

1. LPF (Low Pass Filter)
2. LPF2
3. LPF3
4. BPF (Band Pass Filter)
5. HPF (High Pass Filter)
6. PKG (Peaking Filter)
7. JP
8. MG
9. P5

Along with up to 3 filter slopes of:

• -12 dB/oct
• -18 dB/oct
• -24 dB/oct

FILTER ENV/MOD

This section gives you the ability to modulate the cutoff of the filter using the dedicated envelope or LFO

• Standard ADSR: Traditional Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release controls for Pitch, Filter, and Amp.
• Envelope Depth: Adjust how intensely the envelope affects its target.
• Flexible Mode: An advanced envelope mode allowing for complex positive and negative multi-stage routing.
• Velocity slider: Adjusts the cutoff based on how hard you play
• LFO1/2 Depth: Dedicated sliders to quickly apply positive or inverse (negative) LFO modulation to the cutoff.

• Standard ADSR: Traditional Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release controls for Pitch, Filter, and Amp.
• Envelope Depth: Adjust how intensely the envelope affects its target.
• Flexible Mode: An advanced envelope mode allowing for complex positive and negative multi-stage routing.
• Velocity slider: Adjusts the depth of the envelope based on how hard you play
• LFO1/2 Depth: Dedicated sliders to quickly apply positive or inverse (negative) LFO modulation to the volume.

Mix and AMP ENV/MOD section

• Waveforms: Sine, Triangle, Saw Up, Saw Down, Square, and more.
• Parameters: Adjust Offset, Rate (syncable to BPM), Delay, and Fade-in.
• Step LFO Editor: * A full-screen, 16-step sequencer for LFOs.
  • Draw custom wave shapes for distinct rhythmic modulation.

Group Tabs

Group tabs allow you to view specific sections of all 4 partials at once.

Note: Group tabs will be hidden if there is not enough vertical space for them to be displayed on your device, such as if you have the On-Screen Keys open.

Oscillators Group Tab

The oscillators group displays the oscillator and pitch envelope for all four partials in one view. This lets you make adjustments to the core oscillator and envelope functions for your sound.

Filters Group Tab

The Filters group displays the filters and envelope for all four partials in one view. This lets you make adjustments to the core filters and their envelope and modulation functions.

Mixes Group Tab

The Mixes group displays the Mix and Amp envelopes for all four partials in one view. This lets you make adjustments to all Volume, Pan, EQ and their envelope modulations functions.

LFOs Group Tab

The LFOs group displays LFO1 and LFO2 for each partials in one view. You can quickly see where any movement in the sound is occurring and adjust it as desired.

Key Range Tab

The Key Range tab allows you to customize the keyboard and velocity range for each partial engine.

Simply select any of the P1, P2, P3 or P4 tabs to display the selected partial's key range. From there, you can map different partials to specific sections of your keyboard, like if you wanted to create a preset with Bass sounds on the left and lead sounds on the right.

To set the low range, tap and drag the left handle left or right. To set the high range, tap and drag the right handle.

Using the Fade for the key range

Once you set the left or right key range, you can adjust the left or right fade handles to smoothly crossfade sounds across key ranges/partials.

Setting the Low and High Velocity Range

To set the low velocity range, tap and drag the bottom handle Up or down. To set the high velocity range, tap and drag the top handle.

Using the Fade for the key range

Once you set the low or high velocity range, you can adjust the top or bottom fade handles to smoothly crossfade sounds across velocity layers, preventing harsh transitions.
