While you won't be able to connect the VH-10's motion sensor, you can connect the pad portion to one of the TD-27's AUX [1-3] inputs on the back panel (using a V-Drums cable) and assign fixed Hihat instruments to it. The Hihat instrument would be separate from the VH-14D's assigned instrument.
After connecting the VH-10 pad to one of the AUX inputs, be sure to set the Pad Type for the input in the TD-27.
Next, select a desired Kit to edit, then choose a HiHat instrument for the VH-10.
While in the Instrument assign menu, cursor to highlight "FIXED," and then turn the dial to choose the desired Fixed Hihat sound (PRESS, CLOSE, HALF, OPEN).
Press the DRUM KIT button when you're finished. The new assignments are saved in the Kit automatically.
After connecting the VH-10 pad to one of the AUX inputs, be sure to set the Pad Type for the input in the TD-27.
