Your TD-17KVX box may include extra cymbal pad mounting parts (see image below) which are no longer used with the newer MDS-COMPACT stand/rack that now ships with the TD-17KVX. You can set the extra parts aside, or discard them.
You'll notice that the MDS-COMPACT cymbal stands have a black "stopper" that's permanently attached to the top of each stand. Simply mount the cymbal pads directly on top of the black stopper, then add the round felt washer, and secure the pad using the black plastic round nut on top - in that order. You can then use the tie-wraps to secure the cables to the stand if desired.
