The CY-5 (Hihat) pad box that's part of the TD-17KV may include clutch mounting hardware (see image below) which are no longer used with the newer MDS-COMPACT stand/rack that now ships with the TD-17KV. You can set these extra parts aside, or discard them.
You'll notice that the MDS-COMPACT cymbal stands have a black "stopper" that's permanently attached to the top of each stand. Simply mount the CY-5 Hihat pad like the crash and ride pads;
Place the CY-5 on top of the black stopper, then add the round felt washer, and secure the pad using the black plastic round nut on top - in that order. You can then use the included tie-wraps to secure the cables to the stand if desired.
