When you change a wave’s pitch (Pitch Coarse, Pitch Fine) on the SPD-SX PRO using PAD EDIT, the sound loses a bit of brightness due to how the internal processing works.
If desired, you can either raise the HIGH Freq value in PAD EDIT -> LAYER EQ, or import a sample whose pitch has already been processed using your DAW.
