SPD-SX PRO: How can I control the volume for specific pads by using the expression pedal?

On the SPD-SX PRO, you can specify for which pads the volume is adjusted with the expression pedal.

Follow the steps below.
- Also review the information in “Configuring the PAD EDIT Knobs and the EXPRESSION Pedal (PAD EDIT KNOB/EXP PEDAL)”.

Example: Controlling only PAD 1 in a certain kit using the expression pedal

1. Connect an expression pedal (EV-30, sold separately) to the HH CTRL/EXPRESSION jack.
2. Select the kit to configure.
3. Press the [MENU] button.
4. Use the cursor buttons to select “KIT EDIT2” -> “PAD EDIT KNOB/EXP PEDAL” and press the [ENTER] button.
5. Press the [F2] (EXP PEDAL) button.

6. Use the cursor buttons and the [VALUE] knob to set the following parameters.

   Parameter	Value
   Pedal Mode (SYSTEM)	EXP-CTRL
   Exp Pedal Assign	EXPRESSION
   Exp Pedal Channel	Refer to “Configuring the MIDI-Related Settings (KIT MIDI)” for how to configure the transmit/receive MIDI channel for each pad to the same MIDI channel used for PAD 1.
   PAD1 Rx Control Sw	ON

7. Press the [EXIT] button to return to the previous screen.
