You can connect a footswitch such as the FS-5U or an expression pedal such as the EV-30 to the CTL/EXP jack on the SL-2. This lets you perform operations such as tap tempo (setting the tempo) using the footswitch, or controlling some of the knobs on the SL-2 with the expression pedal.
