If you use the factory default data for the SPD-SX PRO, the factory settings can be restored for specific kits or waves.
Follow the steps below.
* Use a commercially available USB flash drive (sold separately) that is formatted as FAT32/MS-DOS (FAT).
- Download the “SPD-SX PRO FACTORY RESTORE DATA” from the page listed below.

Windows: Right-click the file, select “Extract All...” and then click “Extract”.

macOS: Double-click the file to decompress.

- Copy the “Roland” folder that’s in the decompressed folder to the root directory of the USB flash drive (the directory that opens immediately when you open the drive).
- Once copying is finished, connect the USB flash drive to the USB MEMORY port on the SPD-SX PRO.
- Follow the steps in Copying a kit (COPY KIT) to copy the kit.
- When selecting the downloaded factory default data, move the cursor to the top row in “From”, and use the [VALUE] knob to display “USB Memory 1:Contents_V1020*”.
*The number of digits that are shown differs depending on how many backup files are saved on the USB flash drive, as well as the version of the factory default data. - Select the copy source key in the bottom row of “From”, and the copy destination kit in “To”.
- When selecting the downloaded factory default data, move the cursor to the top row in “From”, and use the [VALUE] knob to display “USB Memory 1:Contents_V1020*”.
