If the pedal switch sustains notes when released rather than when pressed, the polarity between the E-X30 and the pedal switch may not match. Follow the steps below to correct the polarity.
- Turn off the E-X30.
- Disconnect the pedal switch from the SUSTAIN jack, then reconnect it.
- Turn on the E-X30.
The polarity of the connected pedal switch is detected during startup. - Check that the pedal switch sustains notes as expected.
Note: The E-X30 is distributed in limited countries and areas.
Regarding use with the Roland DP-10:
Due to a specification change, DP-10 units manufactured from February 2026 onward are not compatible with certain keyboards, including this model. For details, refer to "DP-10: The pedal does not respond despite being connected according to the instructions".
When using an older DP-10, set the function switch to the "Switch" position.
Note: Half pedaling is not supported.
