The Aerophone Pro AE-30 can connect to a computer via USB to transfer MIDI and audio data. Note that Bluetooth connection is available for smartphones and tablets only.
Connect the AE-30 USB port (Type-C) to a computer using the included USB cable (Type-C to Type-A), or a commercially available USB cable (Type-C to Type-C). A data transfer cable is required; charge-only cables cannot transmit data.
Setting the USB driver mode
- Press the [MENU] button.
- Use the [-][+] buttons to select "USB Driver," then press the [MENU] button.
- Use the [-][+] buttons to select "VENDOR".
- Press the [SCENE] button to return to the scene screen.
Installing the USB driver
Download and install the USB driver for the AE-30 from the Roland support page. Select the driver that corresponds to your operating system (Mac or Windows).
Note: On Windows 10 and 11, the driver is installed automatically when the AE-30 is connected to the computer.
Confirming the connection
- Mac: Open Audio MIDI Setup and confirm that the AE-30 is listed in both the Audio and MIDI Studio windows.
- Windows: Open Device Manager and confirm that the AE-30 is listed under "Sound, video, and game controllers."
Enabling the AE-30 in your music software
Enable the AE-30 in the preferences or settings of your music software. Refer to the documentation for your specific application for details.
