The Gigcaster 5 allows for individually recording each input channel onto its own track in a DAW or audio software. This article will guide through the setup.

Gigcaster 5 Version |
Be sure that the Gigcaster is operating at the latest version available. This can be found under "Gigcaster GCS-5 System Program" https://www.boss.info/global/products/gigcaster_5/downloads/.
Driver Install |
The Gigcaster uses a dedicated audio driver that needs to be installed for multitracking mode. This can be found https://www.boss.info/global/products/gigcaster_5/downloads/.
Note to Mac users: Install the driver labeled: "Gigcaster GCS-5 (MTK-RECORD) Driver."
Gigcaster 5 Setup |
- Disconnect the Gigcaster 5's USB connection from the computer.
- On the Gigcaster 5's home screen, touch the menu icon
on the top right. - Touch SETUP and then touch USB.
- Set the AUDIO MODE to "MTK-RECORD" and then touch the home button on the top right to return to the home screen.
- Connect the Gigcaster 5 to the computer via USB.
DAW Setup

- Open the DAW or audio software and select "GCS-5" as the audio device within the software.
- When selecting an input for a track in the DAW, select the input appropriate for the Gigcaster 5 channel being used.
Here's how the Gigcaster 5's USB channels are routed and how a DAW or audio software will "see" the Gigcaster 5's audio channels come in:
- In 1-2: MAIN
(The same audio as the audio output from the MAIN OUT jacks). - In 3-4: MONITOR (The same signal is output as that which is output from the headphones 1–4 jacks).
- In 5-6: Channel 1

- In 7-8: Channel 2

- In 9-10: Instrument Channel
- In 11-12: USB Channel

- In 13-14: Bluetooth Channel

- In 15-16: Sound pad Channel

- In 1-2: MAIN
