The following procedure will guide you through setting up and recording an external stereo instrument or audio device on the V-STUDIO 20.
- Turn down the OUTPUT LEVEL knob of the V-STUDIO 20 completely counter-clockwise.
- Connect the left and right outputs of your external instrument into the 1/4" "R-LINE-L" inputs of the V-STUDIO 20.
Note: This may require adapter cables (e.g. 1/4" to RCA if the outputs of your instrument are RCA). - Now, either connect headphones to the PHONES jack of the V-STUDIO 20 or connect your speaker's amplifiers (unless they're installed into the speakers) to the "L-OUTPUT-R" jacks of the V-STUDIO 20. Be sure to turn up the volume on your speakers--if applicable.
- In the INPUT section of the V-STUDIO 20, select the "LINE" button so that the button is illuminated red.
- Turn up the audio output volume to the external instrument.
- On the V-STUDIO 20, adjust the SENS knob in the INPUT section until the red PEAK SENS light illuminates occasionally when playing the external instrument.
- Turn up the V-STUDIO 20's OUTPUT LEVEL knob clockwise until you can hear audio in your headphones or speakers.
You may now setup the V-STUDIO 20 to record within your software. As each manufacturer's software differs from version to version, please refer to the software's manual or online help.
